VR Dancer is a graphical computer program meant to enrich the performance done by a dancer, mime, or other performing artist. The artist’s movement is captured by a single camera which is attached to a computer. This movement is then interpreted by the VR Dancer program, which will display a virtual 3d-character which mimics the real performer. The idea is that the virtual character can be much more expressive than the real performer, by choosing an interesting body for the virtual character, morphing it, applying cartoon-like physics and so on.
